Application Checklist
The application process has two steps. The first is your application for admission to The Experiment, and the second is the submission of your confirmation materials.
- In your online application for admission, you will be asked to complete an application form with personal information; short answers; an essay of between 300 and 500 words; and one letter of reference from a teacher, mentor, or advisor.
- Once you complete your application for admission, you will be asked to submit your confirmation materials via the online application portal, including:

The Experiment requires all students to have up-to-date baseline immunizations. In your online application, please upload a history of the immunizations/vaccinations received during your lifetime. Your physician can often print this report for you. - Passport Copy
Please scan and upload a copy of your passport into your online application.
Alternately, you can:- Scan and email your passport copy to us at experiment@worldlearning.org.

- Passport must be valid through February 2014
- The copy we receive must include the first two pages – photo and signature page

Photograph Guidelines:- Photographs should be 2x2 inches in size.
- They should have been taken within the past 6 months and should show your current appearance.
- Photographs should be in color.
- Your full face (front view) should be visible in the photographs, and you should be in front of a plain white or off-white background.
- Photographs should show your face in 1 inch to 1 3/8 inches of height, from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
- You should be wearing normal street attire. Uniforms should not be worn in photographs. Religious attire that is worn daily may be worn in photographs.
- Do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline If you normally wear prescription glasses, a hearing device, wig or similar articles, they should be worn for your picture.
- Dark glasses or non-prescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required.
Should you lose your passport, these two official passport photos will be used, along with the photocopy of your passport, to replace your official passport. They are in addition to those you will use when applying for your original passport and/or visa, if applicable. - Medical Form
The medical form needs to be printed, completed and signed by you (the participant), a parent or guardian, and a physician. The first page is to be completed by a parent/guardian, and all subsequent pages need to be completed by the student's physician and need to be based on a recent physical.

A note to parents/guardians:
After your child submits his or her online application, if your email address was entered, you will receive login credentials to The Experiment’s parent/guardian resource website, where you can view your child's application, update your contact information, download confirmation materials, and enter additional information about your child. To access the parent/guardian site, you or your child must enter a unique email address on your child's application.
